500 Piece Poker Chip Set

By Tony On January 28, 2010 No Comments

Simple Division of 500 Poker Chip Set?

I have just bought the 500 piece sets. Red: 150 White: 150 Green: 100 Black: 50 Blue: 50 What are some easy ways to share this land and to what value should I make them worth? Ex: $ 1, $ 3, $ 5, $ 10, $ 25

This depends on what you do with chips. Tournaments are a requirement, cash games are another. In a cash game, if you're playing limit, it is common to use a lot of one denomination chips, with one or two other colors used in the event that you do not have much of your principal value. For example, if I played a $ 1 / $ 2 limit game cash, I would use a lot of white chips and call them for $ 1. I can use that red $ 5 chips for those who have a lot of money on the table, when I'm short on extra white. I can also use a different chip, which the blue, for $ 0.50 or $ 0.25 a chip, only for small blinds or antes. If your cash game pot limit or no-limit, you can have the use of additional denominations. Typical cash denominations are: White: $ 1 Red: $ 5 Green: $ 25 Black: $ 100 Blue: Something else … Perhaps a great deal, or maybe just for inspecting chips. Now, in a tournament, you have need of many denominations. I usually use the same as above, 1, 5, 25, 100, and maybe a 500th I could give each player a starting stack of 300: 20 White 16 Red 4 Green 1 Black Or something like that. Later, as the blinds and / or antes to be great, you can color up by taking a short break and with players exchanging chips for higher denomination notes, as in black and green chips to exchange for the white and red. It depends on how many players you have, to determine if this is even necessary.
